Giving Our Gratitude Practices a Refresh

Gratitude is a word that gets a lot of lip service these days, but we’re more action-oriented in the BL Legacy office. Especially this time of year, with fall and winter holidays just around the corner, we’re re-committing ourselves to the practices that remind us just how much we have to be grateful for.
These are some of our favorite BL Legacy thankfulness tips:

• Live Mindfully: This is pretty broad, so we’ll give specific examples. One of our favorites is paying attention to what we’re eating, not looking at our phones or watching TV while scarfing down a meal. Not using our phones while we’re driving is another pro tip as well. Plus, not only do these help us live mindfully, they keep us safer and healthier too.

• Express Appreciation to Others: There’s an old saying that goes “If you want a friend, be a friend.” Letting people know they are appreciated (and why) is a good way for us to remind ourselves how lucky we are to know the people we know, and it ensures others will be grateful for our company as well.

• Keep a Journal: Just as writing down goals makes them more likely to come true, writing down our blessings makes us more aware of and open to good things happening in our lives. This practice has the potential to change lives; proceed with optimism.

Being grateful for what we have is the best way to prepare for more. Check out our BL Legacy Newswire feed for more of our success tips.
